Letter to Parents for children attending on Wednesday 29 April

27 April 2020

Tēnā koe

I hope you have been keeping safe and positive during the last few weeks of lockdown. As you know, New Zealand is moving to Alert Level 3 at 11.59pm on Monday 27 April for at least two weeks.

Please continue to keep your children at home if at all possible. The Prime Minister is asking you to only send your children to school if you are required to return to your workplace under Level 3 and are not able to provide adequate supervision at home.

Just a reminder that you can increase your bubble slightly at Alert Level 3 – to bring in close family, isolated people or caregivers but, if you do, please continue to keep your bubble small.

Any students not attending school will continue their learning programme remotely, just as they have during the Level 4 lockdown. Schools are open from April 29 and we are looking forward to welcoming those students who are coming back and want to reassure you that we will be doing everything we can to keep your children as safe as possible. This includes meeting the physical distance requirement of 2 metres between each ‘school/class bubble’, which will have no more than 10 children, plus the teacher looking after them. It also includes ensuring cleaning and other hygiene practices are a key part of our everyday activities. We have outlined our health and safety procedures on our website – https://www.tamakiprimary.school.nz/2020/04/27/level-3-health-and-safety-procedures/

If your children are returning to school on April 29, we need some information from you so we are well prepared when they arrive – see form below or complete online with the link or on the ipad provided at the office.

Please complete the information requested on the following page/google form or upon arrival on the school site to confirm whether they will attend school from 29 April.

If you prefer, you can contact the school directly to provide this information – Call 0800 527 6345 between 8.30 to 4pm Monday to Friday.

Thank you for your support of our school and your care for those in our school community during this time.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.  My email is lreddy@tamakiprimary.school.nz or phone 021 0847 1039.

Please indicate on our form when you arrive on site provided or on the digital link  who will be dropping and picking your child from school. It is important that we have this in our records. This person needs to be the same person everyday.

Please advise if your child is walking to and from school. We will make sure that your child is made to cross roads safely at the crossing.
