School is open and EVERYONE must attend
We are missing our children & we hope to see you all back
We are on Level 2.5 from 31st of August 2020. School is open and it is safe to send your children to school. We are a bit worried that if your children miss a lot of school time, they would be missing out on their learning, which can be sometimes hard to catch up on. We are missing our children and it would be lovely to see them come to school. Please contact the school if you have any concerns. 09-5276345.
This term our students have been exploring their talents and learning the skills to support themselves in a pandemic. Children in middle school have been upskilling their talents in cooking and have come up with an idea of opening their own cafe called ‘Fale-Kai Pasifika’ restaurant for a day. They have been working very hard to learn to cook, design, communicate, entertain and budget. We will be taking pre orders from tomorrow onwards. Fale- Kai Pasifika will be open on Thursday the 10th of September. Please see the attached menu to place your order to support the hard working team.
Please scan the QR Code on the blue wall, just inside the front door or sign in on the school tablet for contract tracing. To help things go smoothly for everyone, please have the Ministry of Health’s NZ COVID Tracer app open and ready to scan
Devices – Chromebooks and ipads Please return all devices along with the chargers back to school, as the children would need these to engage in their learning at school. Please do this as soon as possible as the on-line learning classes have stopped.
Dealing with sickness
If your child has flu like symptoms or a cough and is not well, you should seek medical advice and keep your child at home. If you or anyone from your family is being tested for COVID and are waiting for your results, please make sure you isolate yourself and inform the school immediately. Your child can attend school once you have been cleared by your doctor.
Whanau Conferences – 15th September – 1pm to 7pm
Whanau Conferences have been rescheduled. Thank you to the families who have booked in a time to meet their child’s teacher. Please ring the school on 08005276345 and talk to Sharon to book in your time, if you have not done so yet. School will close at 12 pm for children on the 15th of September, so we can get organised for the whanau conferences. It is important that you meet your child’s teacher as it will give you insight into where your child is, with learning and how you can support them at home.
There is no afterschool netball on either Tuesday or Thursday nights, as the courts are closed at the Netball centre until after the Sunday 14th September. More information will be forwarded in due course.
Children have enjoyed going for their regular swimming lessons everyday this week. It is amazing to see our children practice their swimming skills in water. Thank you to all the parents for your support. Swimming lessons will continue next week till Thursday.
Due to lockdown and having to rearrange swimming & camp, our school photos will now be taken in Term 4. The date will be confirmed soon.
